Sidekick Preferences is where you tune Sidekick Pro to fit your setup. Open it from the app menu on Mac by clicking on Sidekick Pro in top life. Click on Preferences.
General
- Confirm before deleting documents — On by default. Turn it off if you’d rather delete without a confirmation prompt.
- Feature Library — A toggle for every feature. Turn one off to hide it from the sidebar and the presentation item picker. Features already placed in a presentation keep working. (You can also right-click a feature in the sidebar and choose Hide from Library.)
- Layout — Shows your current sidebar widths.
Display
- Auto-open display window when external screen is connected — Off by default. Turn it on and the audience display opens full-screen automatically whenever you plug in a projector or second screen.
- Stage Display — Enable the confidence monitor for on-stage talent (if your plan includes it). See “Using Stage Display.”
- Default Logo — Click Choose Image… to pick the image shown when you press Show Logo. Non-16:9 images are letterboxed on black.
- QR Overlay — Choose which corner and what size the small QR code uses when it appears over live content during Live Responses.
Controls
- Additional Trigger Key — Spacebar always works as your trigger key. Add an alternate key here if you use physical buzzer hardware that sends a different key. See “Keyboard Shortcuts & the Trigger Key.”
Storage
- Library Data — Choose where to store your library media such as presentations, games, settings, and text content. It is only stored on this Mac. A presentation can be exported as a .sidekick file to use on another computer.
- Video and Image Files— Choose where to store videos, title graphics, and slide images.
- Manage— You can find and delete the documents taking up the most space or clean up media files no longer referenced by any document.
- Backup — Export or import an entire Sidekick Pro library. Also see: “Importing, Exporting, and Backing Up Your Library.”
Account
- Sidekick Account — See who’s signed in and Sign Out.
- Subscription — View your current plan and Subscribe or Manage.
- DYM Account — Sign in with your DownloadYouthMinistry.com account to unlock Gold Member features.
- Coleader Account — Sign in with your coleader.co account via an emailed login link.
- Google Drive — Connect a Google account to import presentations from Google Slides.
Usage
Your monthly numbers at a glance: AI Tokens used against your plan’s limit, Peak Audience for live sessions, your current tier, and when your usage resets.

Reset
Recovery tools, used sparingly:
- Restore Starter Content — Re-imports the sample documents without touching yours.
- Delete All Documents & Presentations — Wipes your library. This cannot be undone.
- Delete All Presentations — Removes presentations but keeps your documents.
- Reset All Settings & Sign Out — Resets preferences and signs out of every account. Your documents and presentations are not deleted.
Make sure you have a backup before using any of the delete options.
