Pixelate is the guess-the-image game: a photo starts completely obscured, you sharpen it step by step, and the room races to shout the answer before it’s obvious.
Building Your Image List
Create a new Pixelate document from the Feature Library, then drag images straight from Finder into the item list (drop a whole batch at once) or click Add Item.
For each image, open its editor to set:
- Name — your reference label (the answer, essentially).
- Effect Mode — five ways to hide the image:
- Pixelate — the classic chunky mosaic (default)
- Blur — soft-focus fog that gradually sharpens
- Zoom — starts extremely close, zooms out; drag the focus point to choose where it starts
- Scramble —tiles shuffled out of place
- Puzzle — pieces that assemble as you reveal
- For Scramble and Puzzle, a difficulty grid from 6×6 (Very Easy) to 24×24 (Extreme).
Display Options sets a Title Graphic and Background.

Playing
Select an image and use the Effect Level control — 10 steps between fully hidden and fully clear:
- Right chevron (or Up arrow) — reveal a little more.
- Left chevron (or Down arrow) — re-obscure it.
- Show it! (or Spacebar) — the full dramatic reveal, complete with fanfare.
- Reset re-hides the image; arrow keys move between images.
Play options: Show Title, Show Instructions, and Play Sounds.
