Live Video

This tutorial video walks you through using Live Video in Sidekick Pro, a feature that lets you pull in a real-time feed from your webcam or even your iPhone instead of just a static background or background video.

You’ll learn how to start a new slides document from the feature library, add a slide, and then add a live camera layer—either through the plus button in the layers panel or the dedicated live video button in the toolbar—then choose which connected camera you want to use. The video shows how adding that slides document to your presentation instantly puts you on screen, and points out that any USB-connected webcam can be aimed at your stage rather than just using the built-in laptop camera.

You’ll also see how live video can be used as a background elsewhere in the app: like creating a Wheel of Destiny, generating ten prizes with AI, then opening the display options (the painter’s palette) and swapping the background for a live camera feed, so the wheel spins right on top of the camera image—great for pointing a camera at the winner on stage. Beyond full-screen use, the video demonstrates placing the live feed as a layer inside a graphic, so the camera fills just part of the design. Finally, you’ll learn how to switch the live camera layer from the connected display camera to an iPhone continuity camera, showing that it works completely wirelessly so you can move around the room, get close to the action, or even hand the camera to someone else.

By the end, you’ll be ready to use Live Video throughout Sidekick Pro—on slides, as game backgrounds, or embedded within graphics—with creative ideas like putting an on-stage winner in the background of a wheel spin or roaming the room with an iPhone during a game.
