Building Slides

Slides is Sidekick Pro’s slides document builder — text, images, and video on a full 1920×1080 canvas, plus the ability to embed games right between your slides.

Creating a Slides Document

Open Slides in the Feature Library and click New Slides Document from the + menu. Already have a deck? The same menu offers Import PowerPoint File… and Import from Google Slides… (connect your Google account in Preferences → Account first).

Editing Your Slides Document

Your document opens as a grid of slide thumbnails:

  • Add Slide creates a blank slide.
  • Drag images or videos from Finder straight onto the grid — each file becomes a slide, dropped right where you point.
  • Drag thumbnails to reorder; click a slide’s label to rename it.
  • The zoom slider at the bottom resizes thumbnails (Cmd+Plus / Cmd+Minus work too).

Right-click a slide for the full menu:

  1. Edit…
  2. Rename
  3. Notes… (presenter notes, which show on Stage Display)
  4. Duplicate
  5. Hide (keeps the slide but skips it during playback), video options like Enable Loop and Mute
  6. Insert Game…
  7. Delete

Designing a Slide

Double-click a slide (or right-click → Edit…) to open the full-screen slide editor. Slides are built in layers:

  • Add layers with the Text, Image, and Video buttons in the top toolbar.
  • Text styling — With a text layer selected, the toolbar gives you font, size, color, bold/italic/underline, horizontal and vertical alignment, and a shadow editor.
  • The LAYERS panel on the right lists every layer, front to back. Drag to restack; each layer has visibility and lock toggles. The inspector below it fine-tunes position, size, rotation, and opacity.
  • Video layers get their own controls: Loop, Autoplay, Muted, per-video volume, and Advance on End to jump to the next slide when the video finishes.
  • The Presenter Notes pane below the canvas holds your speaking notes.

Click Done to save, or Cancel (Sidekick Pro warns you if you’d lose changes).

Document-level Polish

Two toolbar buttons cover the whole deck:

  • Display Options (paint palette) — Set a Title Graphic and a document-wide Background image.
  • Settings (gear) — Rename the document, turn on Auto-Advance Slides with a per-slide duration, and write On-Screen Instructions.

Embedding Games

Right-click any slide → Insert Element… and pick a game document from your library. It becomes a slide in the deck: present up to it, the game takes over the display, run it, then advance onward. Your message and your game live in one seamless flow.

Presenting

Click the play button in the toolbar. Advance with Spacebar or the arrow keys (presentation clickers work), jump anywhere from the thumbnail grid, and toggle your Title Graphic and On-Screen Instructions from the play controls. Hidden slides are skipped automatically. Press Esc to drop back to editing.
